Crane truck slows trotro traffic at Palm Wine Junction, Accra, Ghana

Trotro commuters moving towards or out of the Palm Wine junction area may encounter a slight delay as a crane bearing truck breaks down within the shell filing station, in front of the Zenith Bank car park. Its not known what cauied the fault but its visible the middle differential of the truck is grounded. The shell filling station at Palm Wine provides a quick access to La Wireless, Circle, Osu and Nungua. The presence of the truck means trotro buses will need to make a detour or pile up as they exit or enter the station. Palm Wine junction is to the east of Accra, on the 37 Military hospital and La Palm Beach hotel road.

Old Mercedes on the Tse Addo Trotro route in Accra

This old Mercedes Truck was found parked at the Kpogas trotro bus stop, Accra, Ghana. It is common to see such antiquated vehicles in Ghana because of high maintenance culture.  This truck may be 40 years old, judging from the design technology, but it still runs smooth and performs all duties except that it may not be so fast. Such vehicles port heavy cargo across short distances and have an astonishing roadworthy status despite their antiquity.

Kaneshie Nkrumah Circle Trotro Route Diverted at Railway Crossing

The Ghana trotro route from Kaneshie to Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra has been diverted at the railway Crossing. Passengers arriving from Mallam, Odorkor, Kasoa, Gbawe or Kwashieman will now either alight at Times or railway station near Circle. The diversion is to allow the contractors to asphalt the south lanes of the Interchange. Trotro Commuters will experience a slight delay in arriving at or departing from at Circle now because the drivers will choose one of these options to manage the trip. Drive from Obetsebi Circle through Graphic road to Accra brewery and then turn towards Toyota House. Kwame Nkrumah Circle Anti Slip Pavement

Ghana Accra Trotro passengers who disembark onto pavement at the newly constructed Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange will have a delightful relief. The new sidewalks have anti slip steps that will help prevent the numerous falls that befall pedestrians at the terminal. The Construction firm Queroz Galvao has layed special pavement blocks with stomps to improve friction on these numerous pavements that line the Interchange. A man waits for trotro bus at a terminal

Trotro bus stops seldom have shelters. Passengers on most occasions hover around a junction, intersection, lanes,  malls or popular spots. In this picture, the man is patiently waiting for a trotro bus on the kerb. He is west bound to locations like Kaneshie, Odorkor, Mallam or Dansoman. It takes averagely 15 minutes to obtain a trotro bus along a route during the day.

Early morning at Labadi trotro route intersection, Accra, Ghana

In this photo,  the Labadi beach road trotro route lies towards the western section  of the city. Trotro buses from Teshie, Nungua and Tema pass this highway to reach inner city neighborhoods such as Osu, Accra and Arena.
