The Accra Kwame Nkrumah Kaneshie trotro station has changed for good. This morning, construction crew were busily seen erecting buildings at the section of the station that used to be the boarding bay for Circle – Kaneshie – Awoshie buses. According to the new Kwame Nkrumah circle interchange plan, various amenities like day care centers, police stations, clinics shops and other social infrastructure will be constructed in the area to serve motorists, traders and passengers. The government has a new policy of ensuring that any large scale construction does not deprive residents of any existing facilities, and where non-existent, new ones would have to be built.
In the photo above, the new houses are seen in the distance, and in the close up shot below, one can observe the walls of the building in grater detail. Observe the Accra Kaneshie trotro buses park at the right hand side of the new houses.
